The Adega Cooperativa da Lourinhã (ACL), founded in 1957, was essentially dedicated to the production of red and white wine. Years later, after being a pioneer in the production of light wine, it also dedicated itself to the production of brandy.

Today, among the varieties authorized in the demarcated region, the cooperative uses the varieties with which it obtains the best brandy. The most used by the cooperators are: White grapes (Malvasia-Rei; Fernão Pires; Seara Nova; Vital e Tália), Red grapes (Tinta-Miúda e Castelão).
