The Castelo Branco family made an extensive effort to reconvert the agricultural activity with a view to replacing the traditional rainfed cereal farming with more competitive crops in the current international situation, such as vineyards and olive groves.
The planting of vines began in 1995, as a result of the careful selection of soils, sun exposure and grape varieties.
The following red varieties were selected: Aragonês, Trincadeira, Castelão, Touriga Nacional, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Alicante Bouschet. And white: Antão Vaz, Arinto, Verdelho and Viognier.
