The Eugénio de Almeida Foundation is an institution governed by private law and public utility, based in Évora. Its Statutes were drafted by the Founder himself, Engº Vasco Maria Eugénio de Almeida, when it was created in 1963.

The Eugénio de Almeida Foundation's vineyard area covers more than 300ha on the estates of Pinheiros, Casito, Álamo da Horta and Quinta de Valbom. The preference for consecrated Alentejo grape varieties, and recommended for the Alentejo Controlled Denomination of Origin, has been fundamental in the creation of FEA wines. Thus, in white wines, the Alentejo varieties Roupeiro, Antão Vaz and Arinto are predominantly used. The red wines are obtained from the Aragonez, Trincadeira and Tinta Caiada varieties.
