Winemaking:
90% of the wine is fermented in stainless steel vats for a period of 21 days. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out and selected yeasts are used.
Romaneira is one of the greatest and most historic estates in the Douro, linking between the three or four largest estates in the region. The property is quite extensive, flanked for about two kilometers by the river Douro. The best Douro wines are obtained from grapes grown either on the banks of the Douro River or its tributaries. The red grape varieties of Romaneira come, exactly, from vines combined with the river.
