The propolis is a balsam, which results from the mixture of the resins that bees collect, in the young parts of some plants, mixed with their own secretions, pollen grains, wax, etc.
It acts as an antiseptic, allowing the hive to live, with 35 degrees temperature, 80% humidity and food available, honey and pollen accumulating inside the hive.
With temperature, humidity and food, all the conditions are created for the development of epizootic diseases which, only do not develop in the hive, thanks to the propolis.
Composition: ketones, charcones, flavonoids, proteins, vitamins B1, B2, B6, C and E, as well as various minerals (H. Menezes 2005).
How to take:
- Wound situations – topical application;
- General body, can be taken in capsules, drops directly in the mouth or mixed with honey.
Mixed with water, is not the most recommended, originating loss of much of the propolis.
